They use any employment information you confirm to harass you at work or steal your identity. Real process servers do not call ahead to warn you or threaten to contact your employer. They show up.

Callers like "Randy from the Medicare Help Center" target seniors claiming they need to discuss "recent changes" to Medicare plans, and they try very hard to get victims to say the word "yes," likely for a voice signature. They use your Medicare number to bill the government for expensive medical equipment you never receive or to steal your identity for insurance fraud. Medicare will never call you to offer free medical equipment.

Callers from the "so so security office" threaten you with a "warrant for your arrest" and demand you provide the last four digits of your Social Security number to stop the arrest. They use any part of your Social Security number you give them to steal your identity or access your benefits. The Social Security Administration will never call you to threaten arrest. Law enforcement agencies do not call people to warn them about warrants.
