Social Security Number Suspension Threat

Scammers from 228 numbers call claiming a "legal complaint" has been filed against your Social Security Number and driver's license. They leave urgent voicemails threatening to "legally block" or suspend your SSN immediately, saying you received a complaint under your SSN and drivers license number and they will block your SSN before going ahead legally. They tell you to call them back at numbers like 228-335-4560, may have foreign accents or become abusive if questioned, and the callback number may be listed as unavailable. They use this fake threat to frighten you into calling back and revealing your personal information. The Social Security Administration never calls to threaten your benefits or tell you your SSN has been suspended. They communicate through mail.

Fake Delivery and Order Confirmation Scams

Scammers send automated calls warning about "fraudulent charges" and directing you to call "Amazon Security," send texts saying they are waiting for "address verification" for packages you never ordered, and claim expensive items like an "iPhone 13" are going to be returned.
