Legitimate warranty companies know exactly what they sold you and which vehicle they're calling about.

"They're recorded message say they are calling after having made multiple attempts by mail to reach me about my vehicles warranty. Since I have more than 5 vehicles, I need to know which one they are calling in regards to. She asked which was my 'favorite vehicle'. Really?"

Medicare & Health Insurance Impersonators

Callers falsely claim to be from Medicare, Blue Cross, or Humana, threatening that you will "loose your medicare benefits" if you don't provide your card number immediately. They become "demanding and belligerent" when questioned. Others offer "free pain cream" or medical supplies, then ask for your insurance details to "verify" the offer. They use your Medicare or insurance card number to file fake claims and steal benefits meant for you. Report suspected Medicare fraud to 1-800-MEDICARE. Real Medicare never calls demanding your card number or threatening to cancel benefits.

"She claimed to be calling from Medicare and demanded my Medicare card # or I would loose my medicare benefits, I refused and she became very demanding and belligerent."

Fake Package Delivery Scams

People identifying as "Mary," "Mr. Johnson," or "Frank White" call claiming they have a package to deliver to you. They leave vague messages about a "delivery" or "package" with no details, asking you to call back a different number to schedule delivery. Sometimes they claim to be from real local businesses like Sir Home Improvement to seem credible. They use your callback and personal information like your address to commit identity theft or plan break-ins. Official delivery companies leave door notices when they miss you and use their official tracking systems.

PC Tech Support Scam

They ask to connect remotely to your computer to "help" fix the supposed problem. They use remote access to steal your personal files, install malware, or access your banking information directly from your computer. Microsoft and tech companies never make cold calls about computer problems.

"This guy, who sounded Middle Eastern or possibly Indian, said he called about the problem with my PC. I said, What PC? He said your Microsoft Windows PC. I said what PC? He went silent and I said, good bye Felicia."

Constant Hang-Up & Silent Calls

The same number calls multiple times a day, sometimes minutes apart, with no one speaking when you answer. They never leave voicemails, and calling back often results in a busy signal or "non-working number" message. These are automated systems testing which phone numbers are active so they can target you for future scams. Answering confirms your line is real and ready for more scam calls.
